Friday night he's staying in and watching tv, constantly thinking of her and why they can't just be together. He calls himself a fool for being jealous, he was probably a little obsessive with the girl and he thinks that it might have driven her away from him. Saturday night he's gone out to a bar or nightclub pushing past people aimlessly, alcohol is the chemical in his bloodstream. He's because it "should" take his mind off her and he's trying to move on but he can't, she is all he can think of. He wishes she was there to try and fix things that he thinks he might have done wrong but the chorus seems to suggest that it is the girl who just doesn't know what she wants, unsure about him, unsure about herself, her life. He shouts to her in his head to just let go, stop thinking and feel the love in the moment instead of worrying about the future. He also insures her that the love he has been feeling for her is real and that he doesn't care for anyone else. He goes for a walk to try and clear his head about the situation. He wonders where she is, he could probably give a good guess as they knew each other so well. He heads home giving up on her and starting to believe she won't be coming back, but as he walking the steps of his house he turns around to find her there smiling, happy to see him, he shouts the chorus in his head hoping that she has finally let go and they can continued where they finished in their Babylon (perfect world) That's my take on it anyways. Relationships are tough! |
