Hole – Mrs. Jones Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is perfection. How dare people say Courtney Love doesn't have talent! She's a poet and a damn good one! Anyone who can produce songs like this is brilliant in a slightly fucked up way and that's the best way. She paints a horrific picture of woman who after been raped is getting an abortion and the evil abortionist takes pleasure in his job.
The line - 'Look into the bloodtroot you suicide bitch, it takes an hour like you to make me want to live'
The poor woman watching her dead child slip down the drain.
The line- 'Die, survive, I will, I will follow you down the sick drain.'
The woman somehow picks herself up and takes control of the situation with Courtney telling the story towards the end of the song, the line- "Sister ectoplasma, she's incredulous
Just like a pro she takes off her dress and she
Kicks you down in her snow white pumps.'
Snow white pumps?? That small detail.
The song ends with the woman saying
'I really, don't ask me again
Don't ever talk to me like that again'
Courtney changing between her as the narrator, the woman and the abortionist throughout the song. This song breaks my heart, it really does. The way the music jumps between the fast riff and the slower uneasy part and Courtney's voice that makes you become a part of the song because she makes you believe it. This is just my opinion and how I see the song. Everyone is different. I have no idea what was going through Courtney's head when she wrote these lyrics but they are what they are and everyone interprets things differently and thats okay.

Hole – Plump Lyrics 11 years ago
I believe this song is about a lot of different things that Courtney was going through in the early 90's. just my opinion...
I think the first two lines are about Kurt and heroin - 'He shakes his dead rattle
Spittle on his bib'
The lines -
'I'm eating you
I'm overfed
Your milk's in my mouth
It makes me sick'
I think are about being pregnant. Feeling hungry and overfed and sick, defiantly a pregnancy reference.
I think the part -
'And I've stumbled here
Failed to make it mine
They say I'm plump
But I throw up all the time'
I think Is about nothing going right for her in the public's eye. She wanted to be loved more than Kurt, make a better album than Nevermind, instead people hated her for being a junkie, a bad wife and bad mother and all that. She also cares a lot about her appearance, she hated being 'fat' and ugly. So the throwing up all the time may be an eating disorder reference, again this is just my opinion, I could be very wrong.
The 'My baby's in her arms
Crawling up her legs.' Line
Has to be about having Frances taken off of her.
The line -
'Like a liar at a witch trial
You look good for your age.'
Courtney has said she wrote that about Kim Gordon. I do know that Kim told Courtney to not marry Kurt, she said it would ruin her life. In some ways she was right.
I love this song, it's one of my favorites off the album. Shes getting all her anger out.

Sonic Youth – Trilogy: Eliminator Jr. Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is about the 'Preppie Killer' Robert Chambers. Raped and killed a girl in the park or something. Not sure if these are the correct lyrics or not. Awesome song and an awesome ending to an awesome album!

Sonic Youth – Starpower Lyrics 11 years ago
Well actually Kim didn't write the lyrics, Thurston did, she just sings it. But it is a brilliant song and Kim's voice is perfect for it.
