I interpret this dream as being about parents who try to pre-decide the whole life for their kids. Fits with the quote "Felt you there before you were born. Balanced your dreams upon the edge of thorns". This isn\'t about romantic love, because you obviously shouldn\'t think about your romantic partner before they were born |

I think the song is about someone who fakes their own death, possibly to later fake their identiy, and end up regretting it. For some reason they cant just go back on it. |

I personally take this song as being pretty straight forward. My interpretation is the narrator is part of a gang consisting only of heathens that has suffered significant amount of abuse from others and thus united to fight back against the abusers. Afterwards they find that many people want to join them, but "always" for the wrong reasons (could eg. be a teenager rebellion where they arent really mistreated, wanting the status etc.) or other things are wrong about them. And here the narrator procceed to warn those people with prhases like "We don't deal with outsiders very well" and "they say they can smell your intentions". And for the part about them being heathen, well heathen means someone who dont belong to a widely held religion, and it could be coincidence, but I think the emphasis lies on "dont talk to us about your god" like we dont need anyone to tell us what to think and believe in, we already made up our mind |

I thought this song was about Brave New World (i'm reading the book) until the "Mandrake cigars", now I have no idea... The lyrics of unexpected tend to be very figuratively, so it's really hard to understand. |

@[NothingMan:1550] Good interpretation, didn't think about that but when you say it, especially the "hand of doom" my sure be a reference to black sabbath's song, thus drug addiction |

I also want to add that since metallica have a song about electrocution "Ride The Lightning" at the same album, it could very well be what this song is about too... |

I have multiple interpretations of this sing. I'm not sure but it could be somebody they failed to murder, and after he have passed out and everyone think he's dead, wakes up later still being trapped. It could mean drowning in general, literary slipping through the ice, or i've also considered waterboarding. Or it could also be referring to the afterlife where someone actually died and came to hell/purgatory. It could be someone trapped in an avalanche and buried alive, or many other things... Only thing I'm sure on is that it's not about a pleasant experience. |

| Sonata Arctica – San Sebastian Lyrics

I interpret this song as the being a deeply obsessed and ambitious person, but yet unable to reach your highest goal that is nearly the purpose of your life itself as you see it. And you waste your entire life of trying to reach it. "The sun of San Sebastian" and "her" represents what you're trying to achieve and want most of all. But the goal itself is something more abstract that can vary a lot from person to person.
It could for example be about love for one person (which seems the most obvious), or it could be about a revolutionary trying to free his country from dictature, or a scientist looking for answers he never found.
I see this meaning in almost every phrase of the song, but I want to mention the some that I personally find most important:
"She is all I ever dreamed but now my skies are turning gray"
"Every single day, for the rest of my way
I live without my love, my God, I have to stay in shade"
"I was eager, day time dreamer, waiting time when I'd come alive" |

I recently came to think of this song as a possible criticism towards the Indian caste system, that bases on the belief of incarnation and that those who are born into a lower caste "deserves" to be punished because they may have done something terrible in their earlier life that they have no chance to remember "what did I do to deserve all this guilt?" and "reincarnation to let me live again" |

Well, I usually think about Adolf Hitler and the second world war when hearing this song. But I think it's generally about dictatorship. |
