I think what he is hinting at, and "what lies beneath", is sick twisted pride and hunger for power. You don't let the person win the fight you picked. Domination is what they search for and that is why they smile and don't cry when they do it. My guess is this path is like most aspects of power, in that it corrupts absolutely. "Your sad life says it all." |

Has anyone ever thought that this song has amazing similarities to the tale of Darth Vader? I mean he certainly came undone in the light of sun. Tried to keep Padme' alive by asking the emperor to show him the way. Anyways, forever and ever the scars will remain. |

The use of strings with Gothic overtones makes it sound epic and ominous. This could just be bit to stir up worry and dismay. A farther out interpretation might be referring to a second coming or apocalypse of some kind? |
