Pretty sure that this is about going on tour, or following an artistic pursuit and not having time to devote to your relationship. So "I could lie and say I knew this would soon be over/where we'd be waking up tomorrow" probably refers to the constant slog of late nights and long distance phone calls etc. Also, "until I am a master of art, until I have done everything"...pretty self-explanatory there.... |
