Metallica – Invisible Kid Lyrics 11 years ago
I think this song is about having you interests neglected during childhood and growing inwardly. I think it is also about a growing anger and anxiousness..

Yeah the lyrics are simple but it's a playful song, just because the rhyming is basic does not mean its a stupid song. it's quite an important part of the album and one of the more personal songs.

Metallica – Some Kind Of Monster Lyrics 11 years ago
Did anyone notice this song is purely about an alcoholic?

These are the eyes that can't see me - Blinded
These are the hands that drop your trust - Consumed, hurts others
These are the boots that kick you around - Violent

This is the test of flesh and soul - Addiction
This is the trap that smells so good - Addicted
This is the flood that drains these eyes - Drunk

These are the legs in circles run - Addiction
This is the beating you'll never know - Violence
These are the lips that taste no freedom - Alcohol Addiction

This is the God that ain't so pure - Alcohol
This is the God that is not pure - Hetfield

These are all qualities of alcoholism. It is very self concerned, nothing to do with a nation or society. It is about a kind of monster that lives inside you.

'This is the black that uncolors us' refers to a darkness that makes you dull.

I LOVE the loose snares, they sound far more ANGRY and suit this album. It's not what people are used to but I think its perfect.

Just want to add that 'The cup of denial' refers to James' alcoholism during the writing of this album.

I generally think its about Hetfield challenging his judgement, and also turning his judgment onto himself.

Metallica – My World Lyrics 11 years ago
This is a song about recovery particularly Hetfields alcoholism and rehab.

It's about being told how to act and feel, rehab is conditioning and if you ever watched 'Some Kind of Monster' you would 100% understand this song. Hetfield came back from his rehab completely different, toned down, family focused, and tame.

'Not only do I not know the answer, I don't even know what the question is'

Refers to rehab therapy and this new conditioning.

'It's my world you cant have it' is a phrase meaning that hetfields not used to this new lifestyle and is finding it hard to accept this new way of thinking that is being forced onto him. His doctors were getting into his thoughts and 'trying to make me someone else instead'

'Clouds will move on soon'
'Gotta sit right back and enjoy this ride' shows that hetfield was not happy about requiring therapy for his anger and alcoholism but he knew it was the right thing to do.

At the end of the song 'Enough's enough' refers to hetfield being overwhelmed by his alcoholism and rejecting his past self.

Just watch 'Some Kind of Monster' the whole album becomes very clear.

Not about demons.
