I think this is a brilliant interpretation, however I don't think the woman he invited over is one that he has always had a crush on, but an ex of his, with whom he still has a friendly relationship. He has doubts about his relationship with Josie and wonders whether he still loves his ex, but eventually decides to try and make it work with Josie. Though this is simply my opinion and could be me projecting personal experiences, regardless this is a brilliant song. |
