This is my own interpretation of what the song's about, but it's only from a really hard time I went through with this girl that I liked a lot, and because of that experience I feel like I can relate to this song.. a lot. Pretty much what the song means to me is that, there are both a guy and girl that are really close friends, and the girl has gone through a lot of shit and the guy ends up being there for her and helping her through all of her issues and depression. He lets her know how he feels about her later on down the road, and eventually she lets him know that she loves him too. But when he starts to make mistakes, she doesn't turn out to be so forgiving, and each mistake, and with each promise he broke, she became more and more distant, and in the end of it all, he told her that if she really loved him, that none of those mistakes would of mattered, because love would have been in the picture, he told her just because he messed up doesn't mean that he never loved her, it just meant that he messed up and was having trouble with learning from them. The girl could never understand that we hurt the ones we love, and that we tend to say mean things to each other when we get angry or irritated with them, she was willing to give the guy one last chance though, but the guy refused, because he knew deep down that it was always going to be the same results over and over. He had to move on, he had to rid her from his life, because he finally came to an understanding that it was never going to work, and in the end he regretted to himself all the time that he wasted on her, all the long months, all the fighting and arguments, ever day he'd put up with her hot and cold personality. why? Because he loved her for a reason that he doesn't even know, he believed in her, but she never loved him, and after all the harmful words that she'd say to him when she'd get mad at him, and after all the times she'd get distant for no reason, he still loved her the same, but it's over now, he's done, and he's finally drawn the line. |
