Enter Shikari – Hectic Lyrics 11 years ago
It's about bitterly informing a deeper meaning, in the sense that the point is "so moot", but "want" still exists. BECAUSE:
"What 'is' happened, Vox's Sparks?!" &
"To the morning store Recover!" -- "Time will pass"
I really like this song because the lyrics make a feeling, or an earthy-feeling and CD altogether has a "blue cave" sort of feeling to it (A labyrinth, really... yes it's pretentious, I'm sorry.) An easier way to understand is "Vox" basically means "Pig" and I was nicknamed "Piggy" because I'm small and pink (-.- --I stood too close to a fire so I don't have any body hair) by my family--Believe it or not if you ridicule me for that you're a fucking loser. So "roasted pig" is a metaphor for overly dramatic expression--But, "What 'is' happened, Vox's Sparks" is basically a very "learned" Mantra, meaning "Stay grounded, but have fun": If you listen to the FF's Mantra, I Say
"(I will find a way, to keep this moment... to myself) Like you need... everything... I will find... a way... like a verb... Like I'm good; An Emotion! A thesaurus; like I'm Good, Like I need it; Like-a monster, like a monster, LIKE A MONSTER; LIKE IN MANTRA, LIKE A MANTRA!!!" "Like a pitch, in the seams--Like a fire--like you're fighting, in the mead; like a silence; 'Like a star'-is(h)--Like, you wish--Like you fight this--Like, the back (in the book; I don't fight anymore; I don't want this--to the reams, in the silence; in the softest; like the sof"I will find a way~"test) (Pitter out, in the need; "I love you... ...Frances... this week... anymore... to the office... like a trains. Like a haunting--For the need)
--"What is lost, yet: as your bones grow; anything you need--in exchange. Experiences hang...
run, round your mind; hang your toes, over-the-edge--'cause you can (your can)" (play on "your can (you can)") "ground, switch your place; hide inside if you try pesean bones grow; (hiding side)--"I need you; everything; in the much--don't say anything, normal people (doesn't need) everything you want.. in the back.. of the corner store eslow c-c-chang, feel the bleach--in the bleach; everything, in the dark, for the kids) ke-e-p the light on, underneath; to the niche; in the back--like a need..."
"I feel repeat, of exchange (Experiences, hag (like nigger))
"I feel the need--like a motion, for the softest..."
"Like a monster--I'm on FIRE! Like a mantra! LIKE A MANTRA!--" (I would re-record that, WOULD re-record it if it was actually released on CD anyway--rather just listen to Rebel Girls)
--It's kind of like that, "I don't know what to say... anymore.. I don't know what to say... Anym--And all of this, will never be the same... God..DAMMIT... And all of this will never be... God..Dammit... all... my girlfriends... killed themselves.. Ahah! Ahaha! He got it! Ah yeah! Oh yeah!"
'd kind of like to see what someone would come up with if they rerecorded it, but I'm not really 100% on what I'm saying underneath the main verses. It's kind of conceptual. The idea was "If you listen hard, and don't know what I'm saying you'll think like me--which I tried to make it 'You'll hear what you need to'."
.."Peace, yo"

Lorde – Million Dollar Bills Lyrics 11 years ago
"Million dollar bills!--And a-tick, tick, tick, tick"--atrophy. "Go drown the colors of our minds and watch the cars go--Oh..." "How long'd that take?"
You're supposed to be able to listen to The Love Club all night long and wake up feeling "White", and the sex reference exists so that you can function. This is more cynical, or more intellectually involved.

"There's nothing as fun: As coming untied;
And running with the kids:
In the park: park, park, park"--My first name is "Parker" (It actually means "beauty", if you think about it--kind of awkward because I'm a man. I think a missionary named me, I don't even know if I'm related to my family; if anyone, I'd be related to Lorde)
If you're curious I own a liquor store a radio station and a college. A lot of guitarists are retarded (Sigh: Listen to Juggernauts...) I'm lefthanded so I focus on making music instead of hitting strings with a pick--I think it's impossible to sweep pick, but I'm fairly coordinated? So, instead of writing music like Megadeth (guitar-driven) I tried to remain fairly competent, but at the same time I wanted to NOT have a moment where if someone had never listened to "guitar rock" (It's post-grunge) before, they wouldn't be like "OMFG WHY DOES THEIR GUITARIST NOT SING OR HAVE HIS OWN BAND?"
"Addicted to waiting! Addicting to wa'(i)(ti)n(g)st'ar(d)ted"
If you were wondering, that's where we came up with Kurdt Cobain

Lorde – Bravado Lyrics 11 years ago
Song is about getting really high with LDR in Skype. White teeth teens is about contemplating suicide, and getting high in Skype with LDR, then A World Alone is about LDR and Taylor Hawkins' drumming (It's pop, so I told him to do it one-handed): "People are talking, people are talking"--"Well, tell them to shut up then, dammit!"; it's actually fairly insulting.

"Back in the day as empires made haste
To colonize, to claim, to control and contain.
We sat patiently in the future, helpless.

Switch!"
LDR's voice uses too much bass for her to sing vibrato, so I made her sing "Bravado".
It's in your bloodstream, a collision of atoms that happens before your eyes"
Was a lot of fun writing these, (although I'm a bit excited with it being easter right now)--it's technically a bunch of alternative metal ballads that I took the guitar out of, or hid the guitar and played deconstructed riffs/base scales/just volume swell, to the point of pitch being affected and falling into a known pattern.
I'm the kind of person who is not really very close to anyone; I grew up on an MMO, but I very quickly considered a small group of acquaintances non-ideal... LDR got drafted into disney (:/) & everyone else detested people to a degree where they couldn't function socially--the result, socially, is that people started picking on the friends I do have, subconsciously--"OH MY GOD if he'd said ______ I would've fucking... Wait what?" Basically I was in a position where 99.5% of Americans would've failed and created something disastrous, so when I was 12-14 I was one of the most recognizable figures in the world (hint: moot is my babysitter, my last name is Angle)
Create relationships where you can be happy to see people from home. Almost everyone is trustworthy, become well-spoken.

Enter Shikari – Warm Smiles Do Not Make You Welcome Here Lyrics 11 years ago
It's "But the fickle they--lap it up, laffe it up"... I put out a quote by Bukowski; "You begin saving the world one person at a time--all else is grandiose romanticism or politics." "You've got to know when to lie"?
"You begin saving the world one person at a time--or, 'politics'."--Politics means "pole" "ish" (roughly)--to play God. It's kind of like "Let me introduce our guests!!" (the word). No one knows what "Grandiose" means, off the top of their heads, but "grand" is such a wide array of things that it's a misnomer ($1,000 is "a grand", because if you say "four hundred eighty-five thousand" you look like a pretentious asswipe)--and "iose" basically means "of hose" [which can be relabelled as "big pants"--shoes; to portray characteristics of something, or to show the hints of a trade--so, grandiose means "grandeur of mind" or "aether" (spiritual)]. The song is about a cultural standstill, or the period of time between shit not being good enough and more shit that's not good enough being released.
"Warm smiles, they do not make you welcome here!"--basically, the "British" accent (It's Australian, believe it or not) is enunciating the exclamation, as opposed to singing it louder, because it's impossible in music. So, in reality it's about "finding balance"--if you listen to the CD in backwards order it sounds different because the tone doesn't FULLY reverse. If you "try" (<_<) it starts on Quelle Surprise; the "dodging bullets" comes out (":O" <_<) "You are not gonna take away our dreams/means..."--basically it's "an attempt" (the ONLY attempt [to analyze]--I'm not EVIL, I'm CULTURED... "Now they're cracking all the pressure from our force... 'cause we don't belong here! So we're rising to the stubborn assault course..."--It kind of pissed me off, because I'm a good person, but "I let God guide me, I trust God..."--It's kind of like "Yin & Yang", "I'm not gonna have another chance to make this CD this in-depth", and the style is so easy to listen to that I was worried it'd be too much of a "warp"; "Rory C: What's your thesis?! 'I don't fucking BELIEVE this!' " In SC2 there's a character named Rory Swann, I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of "Satan" being in my music so I tried to let it stay conceptual, "Our minds are dormant and static, don't ever respect conventional thought without--REASON!! We need to fucking ERUPT!" -- "Today, for the very first time! We started planning out the ultimate crime!?! Locking together to destroy this cold stasis..." If you can't listen to Quelle Surprise & Destabilise, it's because they're in the genre of harmonic death metal (technically--No... I found yang--"What?" So... I got Brent to contact someone and made what, like 5 other CDs? It was kind of like "Not actually my singing voice, technically, so I can probably sound like them, I've been writing since I was very, very young so I can probably at least give them ideas, and it seems like a good idea anyway"--I need to round this paragraph >_<) "If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose"--I'm pretty sure that's what Satan is, even, just the idea of "take", being used until it comes to THIS point--He's essentially a Monk, or a human God talks to... if you look at quantum theory, it's explained so that if you examine a quantum force, it becomes consistent (The idea of a "something" existing on multiple levels, parallel to our existence or our level of observing--basically existentialism is founded from that, the idea that God is only viewing as an observer, as an observer from our language--That's why if you talk about possessions it annoys people! I'm guessing Jesus was martyred because "we" weren't civilized enough? People got a bad feeling, and assumed to examine the wrong way.) It's ironic because Brent was "Valcrist", which is "examiner of life" but means "reader of 'our' language"--is kind of like a mother telling her child to be happy.
I kind of sound like a demon, if you think about it when you listen to it backwards--Because Sssnakepit sets the mood the other way around ("A nuclear submarine")

I wrote CD with buzzwords to help "nerds" (MMO-Kids) assimilate into doing whatever they want (Because I started playing-around when I was 11, in a T-rated game so I assume I'd have to be prepared--"Hello Tyrannosaurus, Meet Tyrannocide!"
...actually sounds good, when you reverse it.)--I really like THE IDEA of mythology, but it's hard to respect that (Satan likes abstract concepts)... it's basically a video game, and life is a lot more fun when you have a lot to think about, kind of like Marvel? It keeps you high... Use your imagination, you thrive under it. Don't stay so focused that you lose your mind; "Stop, think; begin to revive."... It's not very common to see music like this--any of it (Incesticide [& the Outcesticide series {...lol}], SC, PH, ES, Amarillys, Weapons, & the B-Sides I wrote [Seether, Incubus, {Shinedown} The Sound of Madness]; I think I wrote lyrics for The Dirty Heads, and maybe QOTSA ["We are gonna kick Pop's ass, let me write some Prog Metal"--Ever notice Team and Royals are about poke'mon?
"The moon we love like a brother!
...while he glows through the room"
"YEAH, FUCK YOU, THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I CAN THINK OF."}]) I forget, fuck this...
I have my mentality back but getting my diction back actually takes WORK, most of my mentality is my work, so (What the fuck!?) 2-3 years of gradual decline fuck it
"Addicted to'way you started~"
I also wrote "How I Disappear" by MCR!

The only thing else I can think of to say is "Tennis Courts" is supposed to be "Watching" 400 Lux; and that CD is the theory of relativity (I'm not sure about when you include "The Love Club")--It's supposed to be a girl laying spread eagle on a car, probably in front of an apartment complex--Pure Heroine is a very funny CD. If you want to be retarded, put it on the end of Sound City or put Pure Heroine first if you want to be on the less aggressive end of things. ( O.o??? )--White Teeth Teens is supposed to be about FBC,
"We wouldn't be seen dead here in the day--I guess we're lucky that it's dark, out; And if I like it then we'll stay--Impress the Empress, take a shot, now"
It's about staying... too white, middle class. If you look at the lyrics, closely, the pronouns jump around (And that's what I'm talking about in Mantra--"Like a verb") "Stay," etc; it's set up so you CAN subconsciously take the T out, because "not" (out).
"Skies" is a lot better, if you listen to it from far away, too--It's very, very COMPLEX. Happy Lent.

Shinedown – Her Name Is Alice Lyrics 11 years ago
I was sitting in my room acting like a fucktard and thought "WHAT IF I'M KURT COBAIN???"
...
"HER NAME IS FRAANCEEEEEEEEES!!!" And of course "Fra" is too soft of a sound so I implimented "Al" and got "No one else has a fucking soul". Alice is the female God of war--I think she has something to do with convealing, or the convoludence of "purity" because of the progression of time. A-lice ? "Yeah, Parker, you're right!" ":(" (Kind of like a-base--to disregard a start? a means "to not" [LOL Royals!]--to pick lice--is a "monkey" thing.)
Rabbits reproduce like crazy. "She crawls into the window, through shapes in shadows"--"No she didn't..."
"What?"
A lot of my songs are hymnal, almost--it works like anthropology. It's like applying quantum physics to Universal Theory? I've kept a notebook since I was 14-16 (And played guitar since I was 12), so when I write, I take whatever feeling I have and express it through a story, then "cut" it to apply to a song (--if something feels "movie"-ish, it's because I think it's funny, or I thought it [would] fit better... I'm "still" working _with my voice_, and how that works is when you sing, or hear singing you start working the muscles in your throat towards that... My first guitar was (is) a Takamine--it's ENORMOUS, and the sound resonates.. so that's too much, so I became double-jointed and understand a lot more than most people would. If you listen to Enter Shikari, if Brent tries to sing like me it sounds BAD, the base note is on a flat--his entire voice would change, or he'd have to become double-jointed (tilt your head to one side!)... the result is sort of muffled [it bounces bad]--I think there are 2-3 things in your throat, and if the air escapes too unevenly pitch suffers. Bass/Tone/"Grit").
And "Skies" was written in the same week (Or the same period of prolonged activity), if you listen to it from far away it sounds grrrrreaaaaaaaat. "Trancecore"--that's why "you" (collectively) want to keep hearing the songs.

Enter Shikari – Juggernauts Lyrics 11 years ago
It's kind of like no sleep tonight: (but, more focused on) the idea of growing up in a tightly-knit community, where everyone has influence on each other, not fitting in and finding something productive to do, or a productive way to lead or to take charge from a "young age" (with the invention of MMOs, we kind of stepped back into days of industrialization, as far as aging goes? I don't know how relevant following the curve of people joining is, but that's a very very good thing)--retaining youth, is especially prevalent in this CD, in the sense that youth has been retained, so when I get pissed off and yell about shit I just mock and then provide an example. This one is "accepting the inevitable, sort of"--essentially because "we" (people who were exposed to a community and overworked/matured too early) are essentially, if we don't just conform, fairly competent "talkers".. and by that I mean, the idea of "autism" relates in there, as "Unable to function at the general level of acceptance, from one environment to another"--still growing (And I do say that without knowing the grasp of the term "autism" so if that's offensive, sorry)

Most of this CD is me trying to be "Cute" which is really only okay because my stance is "WTF is this? >_>;"--I try to stay (uhhh) professionally minded...
But, I consider it "God's" fault that the song relates to "taking a shit" based on() I'm Italian with a last name associated with Britain singing in an Australian accent, so I found the guitar riff I thought fit it well--if you hate this song try to listen for the strumming (tapping) pattern, it's buried.
It's honestly an attempt at anthropology--"Here comes another JUG--OR NOT"--the idea of time passing, "making" people... "jug"; either full or not, really, society-wise, that's all you really see, first-impression-wise. "Deep breaths, 'Clenched Fists!' " I use the community for the game I played growing up the whole time, too... I think the idea of standing in front of an amp running my mouth is funny, too--"I don't know why the fuck I'm doing this, honestly--but if you'd record it, that'd be cool."
That's how I came up with "Sappy", too.. more easily relatable. & yeah the CD ("Skies" is also "The Zone", if you were wondering) is talking about "being raised" by our culture--I wrote Jack & Jill when I was 3 and invented the Ampersand, because & looks like two J's, one masculine and one feminine; I taught myself to read using the word "rib" in the bible, and the idea of compromise, and my parents divorced so that I'd gain governmental attention--so, when I watched TV growing up (they used me as an example, quite often) I'd use a collectivist(-ish) image of myself and go towards whatever "problem" was being exemplified, EG everything in America has had me steering it--so I'm "The" Emo (Ingrown Egos, & Syntax Emos--it loses value when you explain it.)

It's about the second line of the chorus--"It don't run in our blood"; it's supposed to be "It don't make our pussies flush." It kind of pisses me off--The tempo is off, the second time through *coughcough*WHAT? The idea is, essentially, if you lead a nation into shock, the song'll be about a boat.
"No postcode... Envy..." & "address"; "&& p!" & "abase", meaning "acidity", talking about "I am the ocean you swim in :0", ES's Acid Nation (Enter Shikari).
Happy Lent.

Enter Shikari – No Sleep Tonight Lyrics 11 years ago
It's 9-8 million miles. "All I'm trying to say is..." Stop worrying! Song is about the guitar riffs, or referring to them as a person. Gap in the Fence comes in here, too--At some point you have to realize that you're just getting closer, or else you tend to ease into overly-cynic/neurotic methodisms (yes, "isms"--kind of.)
