To me, this is a song about wandering aimlessly lost in one's own interpretation and image of perfect love, then being rescued unsuspectingly and finding that perfect love in someone you were not expecting to provide it. "Light that's not burning..." implies him being revealed and vulnerable but no longer judged. He expected the light to burn because it has always burned him. This time, it did not. |
