Bill Callahan – Winter Road Lyrics 11 years ago
The person in the song is driving home on a snowy, winter road, listening to a Donald Sutherland interview, and looking at the lights of the city. Damn I'm good. No, I love this song. "When things are beautiful, just keep on." That is, don't stop and analyze it into the ground; don't mess it up; just keep on. I think the line "long shot of my face" is meant to convey that the Sutherland apology really affected the person, and he is thinking about what it means for him. The whole song is a lovely scene that Callahan describes to us about these thoughts on a winter road. The sound of wind in the beginning is great; it almost makes me cold.
