| Broken Bells – Lazy Wonderland Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I concur to Kingrat2314's opinion apart from it not having to be all about drugs. To me the beginning with the ocean tides describes the troubles and routines the main character experiences throughout their daily life and they have found a way to get away from it all by escaping to the "Lazy Wonderland." Waiting for the underwater world to say goodnight and saying "the trick's for us not to be found out" shows that their escape isn't openly expressed with others. What exactly is within the Lazy Wonderland is up to internal interpretation. Stereotypically it's getting high or drunk alone or with others. But because "my love" is so ambiguous in this song there are multiple more scenarios. Their love could be what they are addicted to but it could also be romantic partner that goes unmentioned in their routine life that they may or may not be having an affair with. Misplacing ones mind with drugs, by having a secret love or just by having a heart to heart with old friend's late at night while going "back in time to live today" by reminiscing of past event can all be depicted within this song. Essentially I find this song is only meant to serve to be reminiscent of everything that can normally go unseen or unheard of in the late night while alone or with a few. | |
