Iron Maiden – Fear of the Dark Lyrics 11 years ago
It's obvious that the song talks about this fear of the dark from a psychological perspective, most likely the one of a child. How we, as young kids, thought that there were monsters lurking in the dark in our bedrooms when we turned our lights off; also, when being nervous or simply wanted to get home when coming back on foot, you get that feeling, even though there is no one there, you imagine there is someone following you; this song messes too with superstitions and myths, as stated in the verse "debating witches and folklores": sometimes the power of imagination can be so powerful that even when knowing it isn't true, sometimes instinct wins, as mentioned in the following verse "senses and suddenly eyes fix on dancing shadows from behind".. A shadow is nothing but a projection of a body, but when in poor conditions of light we start to think that, even though the body that generates it may not be alive,is moving and mocking us, shooting fear in us...

Iron Maiden – Heaven Can Wait Lyrics 11 years ago
Wow.. Near-death experience must be a really intense one... Being on the verge of going from this world we already know to the one we're often told about or maybe nowhere...
