It's clearly about a psychopath. If you've ever known one, every line in the song fits. Doing a little research, you'll find that often, psychopaths are very attractive people (you're so beautiful...), and they usually reel people in by being incredibly intense (a smile that won't wash away) and quite loving and attentive in the beginning (you're so careful when I'm in your arms). They are usually extremely confident, often full of themselves (Can you look out the window without your shadow getting in the way?). Psychopaths usually don't sleep well, some only a few hours a night (you come out at night). Psychopaths typically have a high intellect (a know it all grin). when in a relationship with a psychopath, they typically pour attention on (you give us attention) in the beginning, but later manipulate you into thinking everything is your fault when things go awry (You feed off our fears). |
