A word that sticks out to me is "wallowing" which means indulging in something pleasurable. I think that it is about someone who is not understanding a sad situation the way it deserves to be interpreted. The repetition of the phrase "Come Back Down" makes me think that this is because someone can't keep a level head and is always mentally checked out. The people around the person who is checked out are getting sick of it, so this song is a communication of that frustration. |

I think that this song is about growing up. She talks about the cruelty of people in life, and how she's confused about what is happening. "Severed from the people who watched you grow up...they will be waiting at the end" is the excerpt that I thought hinted at this. You'll get disconnected from your family, but you get to go on this "great adventure" and your family will be "waiting at the end", which could represent either death (but that's a bit gruesome) or some other reunion. |
