This song is the feeling that nothing goes as it should when you are depressed. Everything is a disappointment. There seems little hope that things are going to change. Things are meaningless in the end, things lost, things won, we all end up in the ground eventually and the sun will continue to shine and some will die too soon. It's like he knew things would end soon. |

My baby was recently born still at 40 weeks and this song speaks to me of love and loss and regret. It is a stunning song and by far their best. It is a sad song for when you are not sure how to keep going because it is very hard. |

This is my favourite 1D song. It was written by Harry with help from Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol. It has him all over it. It is a beautifully bitter sweet pop song. For me, when Louis sings the last refrain,

This is what the song is about. About wanting someone so much it hurts.
About missing someone. About not being able to be with someone, either literally when your away from them, may be you are separated from them, but may be also because you can't be with them publicly.
Harry Styles is very famous and person he chooses to be in a relationship with will be fraught with all the public scrutiny celebrity relationships have. Especially if perhaps his choice is one who is the same gender, or a bandmate or whatever. Who knows?
But it is a wonderful song whatever it is about. They all sing it so beautifully. Especially Louis. |

I agree that this is a great song, one of the best on the album. Especially Louis' vocals!
However, the lyrics are about fighting for a love that he can't have. Now some might say it is about girls he has been linked with but it seems so much more. The plea at the end, in the last verse, just makes it seem like he is talking about a current established relationship.
Just like Happliy, the lyrics are sad and about wanting things you can't have.
I think Harry Styles wants to be open about the person he loves but he can't at this time. |
