Although the song is titled "A Little Death", which is referred as an orgasm by the French, it doesn't have to be only about sex. Sure you can see it that way, or you see it as an emotional craving. When he sings the chorus, "Touch me, yeah/ I want you to touch me there/ Make me feel like I am breathing/ Feel like I am human", he sings it with a sensual and sultry voice that shows how much that person feels towards the one they're with, or the person they want to be with. It doesn't necessarily have to mean that it's about lesbians having sex, that was only a video. Most videos are just to show some part of the song or to show an expression. The song can be about someone wanting the person so much that they're practically pleading them to "..touch me there". Obviously part of the first verse, "The room was fit for two,/ The bed was left in ruins/ The neighbor was knocking, yeah/ But no one would let him in" means that two people were together, hence the "bed was left in ruins" and no one answered the neighbor who was knocking. "Dancing through the night/ A vodka and a sprite/ A glimpse of the silhouettes/ A night that they never forget", both were having a good time, I guess, and it turned out to be a night they would never forget. A night of love, passion, and of course sex. The verse, "She sought death on a queen-sized bed/ And he had said, "Darling, your looks can kill,/ So now you're dead." means that the woman "found death", or had an orgasm, on a queen-sized bed. One that was unforgettable since now she's dead. Now on to the chorus, which is shown multiple times. It says, "Touch me, yeah/ I want you to touch me there/ Make me feel like I am breathing/ Feel like I am human". The person reveals a longing deep inside, showing their lust for that particular lover whom they're with. "Make me feel like I am breathing/ Feel like I am human", this part expresses that the person feels alive and important when they're being touched intimately by the person they love. They feel like they exist, like they're finally able to feel. Like a human should. |
