| Pink – Raise Your Glass Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
I know that this song was partially written for Pinks gay best friend, but I think I can definitely relate to the song on a much more personal level. The song is basically saying, too all of the nerds, weirdos, geeks, or "underdogs" you can party too; don't care about the popular people! "If you're too school for cool, and you're treated like a fool, you can choose to let it go. We can always, we can always, party on our own" Firstly, I LOVE these lines. They are incredible. They are basically saying, if you are too nerdy to be cool, and everyone makes fun of you. You can just let it go, and just not care what others think, and have a good time! Also the "So raise your glass if your all wrong, in all the right ways" Pinks one liners are amazing, and that doesn't stop with this one. She adds that if you really don't fit in, or conform to society's norms, then just have fun. Don't let anyone hold you back. |

| Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud Lyrics | 11 years ago |

This is just a classic Ed love song, through and trough. He talks about how he wants to grow old with this woman, and uses such romantic phrases to emphasise this. Comparing her soul to 'evergreen' was really touching I think; saying her soul is always going to be beautiful in his eyes. He also goes on to say, and hope that she will reiterate the feeling as "when the crowds don't remember his name", "his hair goes and memory fades" she will still love him the same |

I really love this song. So very much. It's all about his grandfather dying of Alzheimer's Disease (hence the "then the devil took your memory/breath away") which I can fully relate to. It is so magical about how he reflects on his grandma telling him stories about his grandfather (he died when Ed was very young; 6 to be exact) and about how much he was a loving, and caring man. He then goes on to talk about him at the funeral, and how everyone has united together through the grandfather's death as they sing "hallelujah" in their "black suits, black ties standing in the rain" It is such a tribute to Ed's grandfather, and beautiful too. I don't see how anyone could say something bad about this song as it is so sweet, and I can relate to it entirely. And I love how it ends in hallelujah. It just sums up how praising they must have been of such a kind man. |

| I Can't even be bothered to analyse this song, as it doesn't need to be! The lyrics speak for themselves and it is just so emotional! | |

I am really loving Ed's change up of styles from his last album (+). This first track from the new one (X) is produced by Pharrell and unusually for Ed's music, is more of a 'Jazzy', 'Pop-Like' song that people can get up and dance to. This is down to the fast paced beat and rapid singing. Towards the end of the track, we start to hear a Justin Timberlake like style of music which I absolutely love! All together, I love this new song and can't wait for X to come out on June 17th! |

| Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know? Lyrics | 11 years ago |

"Do I Wanna Know?" Is both a fantastically written, sung and produced song, and also reveals a very emotional truth. The meaning is quite simple, and that being, whether the person in question wants to find out if the person he has grown to love, returns the feeling, or whether he should give up all hope. As the person is quite obviously head over heels in love with this woman, he is saying "Do I Want to find out that you don't love me back and then be crushed for evermore?" or "Would I rather live in the fantasy that you may love me still, and that I should keep hope?" |

GENERAL DISCLAIMER: This is not an exact song interpretation, just what it means to me! I think that this song is basically about a person who has started to realise they have had feelings for someone else, and are now worrying about what the other thinks, and is getting over dramatic with the whole 'Do you think he likes me' thing. 'Say something, I'm giving up on you' Is when they are sitting next to you and aren't talking to you, or saying anything, and you are just sitting there screaming in your head with thoughts like 'what have I done?', 'Should I even bother?' and 'they hate me!' as you do when you are so over your head in love. It is an erratic feeling of someone who loves someone else, but they don't return that feeling as much as the first person would have hoped. It is making home feel 'small' and 'alone', and are starting to doubt both the other person, and themselves! |
