This song definitely speaks of self-acceptance and really the bands name itself: Grouplove. The whole mantra and thought shared with everyone in the band is that everyone should just love one another and accept one another. I've seen them live a few times and this is very apparent and exactly what the song speaks of. The only part I would say is different is So I pull this switch The switch, the switch inside my head And I see black black, green and brown brown brown brown, And blue yellow violet's red To me, from personal experience and examining both of their albums, it seems as though members of the band have used hallucinogenics a time or two. The thing people don't understand with these types of drugs is they are not to simply get away from problems and to trip out. The real effect is that you just think about your problems, your views, life itself, and everything you believe in. This part seems to me like he had a realization while on a trip, most likely acid, and this realization was truly self acceptance. |
