| I think you're spot on with your interpretation. The line "if you're sharpening your scissors" I think it may also be a sort of continuation to the Samson and Delilah metaphor, since Delilah betrayed Samson by cutting his hair (If I remember correctly). So maybe that verse is saying that they don't trust each other as they are both "sharpening their scissors" to betray each other, but at the same time he's sharpening his sword to fight for the relationship and kill the dragon | |
