I feel this song pertains to drug addiction and all the crazy things that happen. The days and nights blurring into one long day. The scary places you go ( in your head and dealers houses). The people who you meet (good and bad) whom may lose their life (to jails, mental institutes, or by overdose, accidents, or murder). All your hopes and dreams are forgotten not chased after. How you lose your way and lose who you are to yourself. You spirit's broken hence "your heaven" (the way the drugs make you feel) are trying to break you down so that you'll only do what you need to do to get back to "your heaven" (the drugs). How even when you know better and even though you want something else from life. To tear yourself from what is now so familiar and normal seems impossible to accomplish. So why try to change. This song was me.... I was that person..lost. I had over 2 years free of meth when it's evil caught me up for another year. I now have a year again and this song helps remind me where I've been and where I don't need to ever go back to. |
