Although I think it's really about Oli's addiction, I also have a different interpretation of the song (due to personal experience): This song mainly talks about love, love which seems it has ended up. Though, it doesn't matter if the relationship is broken, "Tides will bring me back to you". That sentence would sound to me, something like, "It doesn't matter if we split up, one day we'll meet again and we'll together again" (like if someone in the relationship died also). Furthermore the sentence "Don't try to fight the storm, you'll tumble overboard" means that fighting is worthless because the relationship will end up anyway (but there will be a comeback...). I love this song, it is really really emotional, so sad, sullen, deep and dark also! |

I think the song is about two people, a boy and a girl, who both committed suicide due to depression, told by someone. Yeah, Maika said it is about suicide, but not about his father's suicide: that song is called "I Can't Decide" the next of it in "A Little Faster". |

I think it is about people who don't do their own business in general (moral) In the song we have to friends who, one of them, always sows discord and this other friend is tired of him and he has enough of everything (I wanna watch the whole World burn down). He "explodes" then and he says everything bad he had in his head. He hopes what he said make finish this relationship between these two friends "killing" the friend! Amazing song, amazing lyrics! I really do think it is like a suggest to do your own business, cause people of nowadays don't do it and to not sow discord! |
