The Cruxshadows – Ballrooms Of Mars Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I believe this is a song about soldiers in war time; Mars = God of War, Ballroom = Battlefield or campaign, Dance = fight/battle I think the 'trembling planes' would represent a battlefield with artillery explosions, changeless madmen = politicians/generals, and monsters = the enemy. The names of the people don't relate very well, but Alan Freed was a DJ, and Lennon and Dyan were musicians. Lennon and Dylan were anti-war activists and Freed served WWII. Other things reference a return after war; roses, wind in an open roof car during a parade, and your face in stone. I am undecided if the the 'hill of stars' would be something like the grave markers Arlington National Cemetery or an actual monument on capital hill. |
