Pierce the Veil – Caraphernelia Lyrics 11 years ago
the part that confused you was saying that he needed the girl to survive and he cheated on him and pretty much tells the other gut to "give her back to me"

Pierce the Veil – Caraphernelia Lyrics 11 years ago
First, this is one of my all-time favorite songs since I heard it when it was released.
Anyway, my interpretation:
Sunshine,
there ain't a thing that you can do that's gonna ruin my night
but there's just something about this dizzy dreamer and her bleeding little blue boy
licking your fingers like you're done and you've decided there is so much more than me
and baby honestly it's harder breathing next to you I shake
I brought a gun and as the preacher tried to stop me
hold my heart it's beating for you anyway
This is saying that no matter what she does, he'll have a good time with her. Then he was saying she left him because he wasn't enough and she could have better. Then Vic was saying that he'd give her his heart because he didn't need it if she wasn't with him.

what if I can't forget you
I'll burn your name into my throat
I'll be the fire that'll catch you
what's so good about picking up the pieces
none of the colors ever light up anymore in this hole
He's saying that he can't forget her, and will scream her name (Cara) and that he'll do anything. Then he says that there's no point in picking up the pieces of his heart because nothing is bright without her.

nobody prays for the heartless
nobody gives another penny for the selfish
you're learning how to taste what you kill now
don't mind me, I'm just reaching for your necklace
talking to my mom about this little girl from Texas
I think this is the point of getting over her and saying she's heartless and selfish. Then he's saying that she can see what she did to him. The last two lines are saying that he's taking back the things he gave her and he's telling his family how much he wants her back.

what if I can't forget you
I 'll burn your name into my throat
I'll be the fire that'll catch you
What's so good about picking up the pieces
none of the colors ever light up anymore in this hole
This is the same as the last chorus, saying that he'll do anything to get her back.
just give her back to me
you know I can't afford the medicine that feeds what I need so baby what if I can't forget you
collide invisible lips like a shadow on the wall
and just throw, oh no
you can't just throw me away

This is saying that she moved on and he doesn't think he ever will. He basically says he needs her. After that, I feel like he's angry and pleading to have her back, but she's forgetting about him. He's saying she can never just throw him away.

so what if I can't forget you
I'll burn your name into my throat
I'll be the fire that'll catch you
what's so good about picking up the pieces
what if I don't even want to
I'd better learn to live alone
This is my favorite part. After repeating the chorus, he says, "What's so good about picking up the pieces? What if I don't even want to?" I think this is saying that he doesn't want to recover from loving her. It's my favorite line. He ends the song saying, "I guess I'd better learn to live alone", which is saying he doesn't want anyone else and if he can't have her he won't have anyone at all.

I love this song so much, and had it on repeat for about a week when I bought it. Jeremy McKinnon from ADTR is a great addition to the song.

Pierce the Veil – Stay Away From My Friends Lyrics 11 years ago
There are two interpretations I made to this:
I think the song says that he's been through enough crap in his life, and the pain should stay away from his friends. For instance, when he says "Ana come on", Ana is a nickname for anorexia. Then, when he says "Scaring the thought of kissing razors," I thought of self harm and depression. I think he's saying he needs his friends to survive and mental disorders and illnesses can't take them away from him.

My second thought:
This can refer to a relationship, saying that he wants to marry this girl, but she wants his friends. "Like a strip club scene" refers to the fact that she may get with anyone, including his friends, and kind of refers to sexual things (strippers, prostitutes, etc.) Then when he says "Scaring the thought of kissing razors", he could be saying what he loves will bring him pain.

Overall, I love this song and find it extremely meaningful, especially in my first interpretation. Pierce the Veil is amazing and will forever remain my favorite band.
