I think this song is about a collapsing relationship. He can't think clearly so he is not able to make an accurate decision: "I've been up in the air Out of my head.." This puts him into a vortex of emotions and he is not able to get out of it: "Stuck in a moment of emotion I've destroyed." It looks like he has fallen in love with someone who doesn't show affection to him or isn't in love with him. To make her happy, to gain her attention he even breaks his own rules- character: "All of the laws I've broken, loves that I've sacrificed" I don't have an exact interpretation for "loves that I've sacrificed" part. After all, he feels pain for not taking a step to make a difference to put his life into order. Sometimes he tells himself that today is the day that he will break up, but, he fails: "A thousand times I've tempted fate A thousand times I've played this game A thousand times that I have said today, today, today" Finally he makes a decision: "Take no more Take no more Take no more I'll take no more" I agree with Karin20 about the "wrap my hands" part. "I'll wrap my hands around your neck I'll wrap my hands around your neck with love, love" He loves her so much but he also hates her for the confusion and pain she causes. |
