I first heard this song from the start of Borderlands 2 and instantly loved it. (I can't see where you're comin' from But I know just what you're runnin' from And what matters ain't the who's baddest but the Ones who stop you falling from your ladder) When I think about this song, I always think it's about a man who is trying to run from depression and not even the baddest of people can run from it, but he isn't alone cause someone is trying to help him get away from it (When you feel like you're feeling now And doin' things just to please your crowd But I love you like the way I love you And I suffer but I ain't gonna cut you) The person helping him can see he is depressed, he is always trying to hide it from his friends/family, his crowd, but this person loves him and suffers cause they can see he is suffering (This ain't no place for no hero This ain't no place for no better man This ain't no place for no hero To call "home") This place he lives in is a bad influence for his depression and could be the main reason of why he feels depressed and sad (And every time I close my eyes I think, I think 'bout you inside And your mother givin' up on asking why Why you lie and you cheat and you try to make a fool out of she) And whenever this person sleeps all they can think is how sad their friend is and how he might've avoided people(mother) so he could hide his depression from them |

| It could be ironic or he might be saying to beat these 'evil' people he can't be a hero or a 'better' man, he might have to be just as 'evil' to defeat them. A lesser evil can be defeated by a greater one. | |
