Faith No More – Separation Anxiety Lyrics 10 years ago
Easily my favourite song from the album, love the line "Your mind has a mind of its own,"

Faith No More – Motherfucker (Sol Invictus) Lyrics 10 years ago
Saw this song performed live for the first time at Hyde Park last year, it's cool to hear Roddy give the intro on a song.

@[danicycle:5866] Nice explanation, I have no idea who the Sun God is and have never heard of this before but I thought the song sounded great and very meaningful even without having a clue what it was referencing. It's good to be able to tie the song to a story though, thanks for this.

Mr. Bungle – Egg Lyrics 11 years ago
That actually makes perfect sense with the lyrics and insane tone of the song.
The last part where Mike repeatedly says "There's no place like home" and gets madder each time definitely seems to back up that theory.

Mr. Bungle – Platypus Lyrics 11 years ago
Great song, but I don't think the lyrics are quite right.
Although the opening line would make sense, as that is the latin name for Platypus, it doesn't sound like that's what Mike is saying.
Sounds more like "I ain't the one who's an animus, platypus."
There aren't enough syllables there for it to be "Ornithorhynchus anatinus".

Mr. Bungle – Backstrokin' Lyrics 11 years ago
Perfect description of the song, I didn't even know there were creepy sounds underneath the lyrics of the song before I read your comment, that bring a whole new dimension to it.
This song is such a great break after the confusion of "The Bends" to just have a simple tune with meaningless lyrics, it's perfectly placed on the album.

Mr. Bungle – After School Special Lyrics 11 years ago
I completely agree, and I think the tune of the song is trying to reflect how somebody would reflect on childhood abuse in later life, as each verse starts of happy and melancholy(to reflect childhood innocence and naivety) , but eventually ends up being creepy and slow(to reflect how dark it can be to reflect on that kind of childhood).

Faith No More – Mark Bowen Lyrics 11 years ago
Wow, that's a really interesting explanation. I'm sure people have spend loads of time trying to work out what this song meant regarding Bowen, that's so funny that it has almost nothing to do with him.

Faith No More – We Care A Lot Lyrics 11 years ago
I like the version of We Care A Lot more on this album than on their 2nd one, this one feels more like true grunge and feels more rebellious.

I completely agree, Crab Song is a fucking masterpiece.

Faith No More – Greed Lyrics 11 years ago
Yeah, this is such a great slap in the face to people who complain about his drony singing, as if he doesn't realise how he sounds. It's just basically telling people to open up their minds and have a broader opinion so they can understand and enjoy his music.

Faith No More – Why Do You Bother Lyrics 11 years ago
It is a shame that the Chuck Mosley is pretty much forgotten even amongst FNM fans, I think some of their best songs came from his era.
I think this song is just about the youth lifestyle of fucking yourself up on drugs and alcohol constantly, and being carefree about it. The last lyrics of the song which reflect carefree driving to me are a metaphor for the way some people live their lives in almost a constant state of drunk driving where they are constantly taking risks without thinking of the conseequences.
I think it's trying to be positive overall though, saying that it's fun to live that way and that being carefree is good. I don't agree with the message, but I think that's what they're trying to say with this song.

Faith No More – The World Is Yours Lyrics 11 years ago
This is a very interesting song, but I don't think it's exclusively about R. Budd Dwyer, I think the fact that the title of the song is a memorable line from Scarface is more than just a coincidence.

For one thing, FNM did a cover of the theme from Scarface during their reunion tour, so they're definitely at least aware of the link.
I think this song is about paranoia. This is represented by Budd Dwyer', a man who went from being a respected politician to killing himself on live TV, and Tony Montana in Scarface going from a drug kingpin where the world was his, to his entire world falling down around him and ending up dead in a pool of blood in his own home, due to paranoia leading him to make the wrong decisions.

The lyrics "oh, What I would give for your eyes/I've
Seen it all before
You'd never blink again
Seen it all before" reflect the theme of paranoia brilliantly.

Faith No More – A Small Victory Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is fantastic, the lyrics really stick out in your head, to me this is the best song on the entire AG album. The chorus of "It shouldn't bother me NO. It shouldn't bother. It shouldn't bother me no, BUTITDOES." is perfect.

This song is fucking awesome, there's a video on the official Mr. Bungle website showing how mad the performance of this song got live. Pretty epic.
