| O.A.R. – Shattered (Turn the Car Around) Lyrics

You're right about that. I heard this song incessantly on the radio growing up, thinking it was an okay song, but I never really understood the real meaning of this song until I was still in a similar situation you described. No matter how impossible a relationship is with another person, you still can't get that person out of your head.
Been almost 4 years and over 6,700 miles, and I still haven't completely gotten over her. |

| They Might Be Giants – We Want A Rock Lyrics
| 11 years ago
|
It's simply just stream of consciousness that's obscure, doesn't mean anything, and it's just entertaining to hear it, and it's sudden dark turn to terrorism like "Someone in this town is trying to burn the playhouse down, they want to stop the ones who want a rock to wind a string around."
As someone with ADHD, I can say that when things come to your mind, they just come at seemingly random events. That's all I see in these lyrics. And that's what I like about the song. |

| Ben Folds – Still Fighting It Lyrics
|
Hope you're still fighting it. I grew up the same way: Very slow processing speed, as well as huge difficulties with social queues, that gave me quite some difficulties growing up. I know it's difficult, but of course I can't imagine what it's like to see your son go through the same pain you did before him. I don't have children, but Ben Folds always played music that describes the uncertainty of the future as we grow up, as well as the distaste with the present.
Keep fighting it! |

| Ben Folds – Fred Jones Pt. 2 Lyrics
|
Fred Jones is being laid off from a job that otherwise made him feel as if he belongs with the people around him. He feels as if he is an invaluable part, and his friends care about him.
But here he is being laid off. The song is probably being sung from the boss' POV, where he does care about Mr. Jones, but not enough to protect him from downsizing. He sees that Jones realized that nobody has really cared about him as much as he previously thought. |

| The 88 – At Least It Was Here Lyrics

Great song, a theme song to an absolutetly excellent show.
People have interpreted this song as either talking about a relationship, or contemplating suicide. It seems to me as both.He seems to say to this girl that she is the reason that he doesn't try to kill himself, and that he still has hope for the future because of her. |

| Third Eye Blind – Semi-Charmed Life Lyrics

It's about a meth addict, and his "semi-charmed kind of life," sang from his point of view. The lyrics, however, at times, sound quite sarcastic when it comes to his relationship with this woman. The tone of the music is so contrary to the meaning of its lyrics, it tends to be nicknamed, the California version of Lou Reed's "Take a walk on the wild side." |

Agreed. I can relate, as well, as I am going through the same thing. I believe it is that he will wait for the girl he loves to forgive him for the mistakes he made. |

| Don Henley – All She Wants To Do Is Dance Lyrics

It's about ignorance. It's saying the world's at the brink of war, yet there are some people that are completely oblivious to it. It's disgust at the heidonistic lifestyle |

| The Killers – Mr. Brightside Lyrics

I believe Brandon Flowers did say it was about an unfaithful girlfriend he once had. I could be mistaken, and it could be about a prostitute, but otherwise, it is an excellent song, |
