In the song, the girl is just scared of falling in love again, having had her heart broken a few times before. She doesn't want to hurt herself or the guy by throwing herself into the relationship and having to end it. Above all, she's scared if he'll let her go forever. But she feels rather safe with him, so she's in a dilemma. |

The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the lyrics is a person talking to her best friend who is sad because her boyfriend or someone like that has left her. The girl tells her friend that she has suffered the pain before and is trying to give her support, to give her hope. She tries to tell her that these experiences make us who we are. The song is very motivational and I find that my friends feel better when I sing it to them. Christina is such an awesome lyricist. |
