| I think this song is about dealing with anxiety and/or depression. You go to sleep to avoid dealing with problems of the day and avoid confronting issues by turning off your eyes/ears/mind. Even when you sleep though, it is not restful and you wake up feeling worse than before. It's a bad cycle that could ultimately end in a breakdown. He deals by turning up "these", his instruments and band, up to 11 and keeps the anxiety at bay by playing his music. | |
