Yeah, I'm pretty sure Condon was talking about venice. Not about colonies. Most all of Condon's lyrics have to do with emotion in connection with the cities he has visited. |

I take this song in more of a literal sense. I think it's about how we commonly portray prostitutes as an object, but upon the speakers close interaction with the prostitute, he discovers that the prostitute displays very human qualities, and very real emotions…."waves in her eyes." Also note how after the speaker's middle two verses, he addresses her in a more personal tone….changing from "we" to"i." |
