Florence said this is a song about a hangover, but I think it's not about that. For me "Shake it Out" means so much, I've been trough some hard times but at the end of the day you just have to forget it and 'Shake it all out', that's the meaning of the song "Looking for heaven I found a Devil in me... Well what the hell! Am I gonna let it happen to me?" I believe she means that looking for a solution she just found more troubles, but is she going to let her troubles control her? Or is she shaking it all out? |

This is such a beautiful song! "You left me in the dark No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight In the shadow of your heart". I think this song is about when you fall for someone who does not feel the same, someone like your best friend. You do everything for him or her bust she/he doesn't notice it, you wonder yourself why she doesn't likes you. I can completely relate to this song because I've been trough that and it sucks. The lyrical content of Florence and The Machine songs are just wonderful Florence voice is amazing as well as The Machine |
