I actually know what this song about because it was written for my aunt. My uncle is the accountant for Mastodon. His wife (my aunt) unfortunately passed away from stomach cancer in 2011. Her life motto was "Pursue happiness diligently" and it was the message she passed along to me and everyone else in our family. Not long after she passed away, they wrote this song for her, changing the words to "Pursue happiness with diligence" to better fit the music. I use this song to remember her and I'm really happy her message can be passed along to the rest of the world. |
