Cage the Elephant – Back Against The Wall Lyrics 11 years ago
this is what this song always meant to me (although I don't really think this is what it was intended to represent)

to me this was about being in that place between being a teen and an adult, but feeling stuck as a teen and not quit sure how to be a grown up. you're still working a teens job, and you're stuck wanting the independence and all the perks of a grown up, but don't want to become another working drone.

Buried beneath this house
My spirit screams and dies again

to me this line is about still living in your parents home, and not seeing a way out. you feel buried beneath the home you grew up in and your very spirit cries out and dies with no way out

I think this song is about the advice justins dad gave him when he and the band were in limbo about what to do with the band.

Sequoyah Prep School – About Rain, Too Lyrics 11 years ago
this song is about Justin's break up with a girl. he was blissfully unaware that she was unhappy about how the relationship was going. she wanted more of a commitment and the comfort of home, while he is a rambling man on the move (in love with change). but after things go bad he regrets not being more serious and asking her to marry him (maybe I should changed your name when I had the chance)
