The song is most likely about The Island of Dr. Moreau - either the film that came out in 1977 or the 1932 film called Island of Lost Souls. The laboratory where Dr. Moreau creates the hybrids and conducts experiments is called "the house of pain", so there's plenty of screaming coming from there. I think it says "When new creatures rape your face, hybrids open up the door" - the "new creatures" being hybrids, and "the door" could be to the house of pain. The panther woman maintains a human form most of the time, but her face changes when she starts reverting. The hybrid moments never last because the hybrids keep reverting, and none of them can permanently deny their animalistic nature. |

Iron lungs were used to treat polio victims, most of which were children. Polio can affect the CNS and cause musculoskeletal deformities as well as paralysis. Paralysis from the waist down would cause them to be unable to copulate (maggots are the larval stages of flies, children are the human equivalent). There’s an old wives’ tale that cats suck babies’ breath, but the iron lung would be problematic for the cats since it is a ventilator. The body was inside the long cylindrical tube with only the neck and head sticking out (cracked necks from settled limbs). Would you want to go through all of that just to live life paralyzed, deformed, and unable to copulate? Some kinda love or some kinda hate indeed. And it may be “woah”, but in this case, “woe” seems more fitting. |
