Prior To Ever Truly Experiencing Depression I Had a Completely Different Interpretion. But Now I Understand It Differently. When You Feel True Depression (Not Sadness) It Feels Like Nothing At All Could Make me Feel Happy Or Any Positive Feeling. It Is A Very Scary Place To Be, This Song Helped Me To Realize That I Do Sometimes Battle With Depression; and Im Not Alone. People Have Asked Me To Explain It, I Could Never Put It Into Words. It Isn't Anything Specific At All, But Can Be Triggered By Sad Events, There Isn't a Cure Or A fix. It's Not as if All Of Your Problems Disappear, then You Will Be Better. It Is Being In A Place Where Everything Is Truly Grey, A Place Where You Can Hardly Feel Anything At All. Someone Once Told Me Hate Is Not The Opposite Of Love; But Indifference Is! I Get That Now, Indifference Is The Most Dangerous Place To Be, For Me. I Think Natalie Is An Old And Unbelievably Wise Soul. |

I Find It Interesting So Many People Relate This Song To Struggles With Drugs, Because So Many People Are Struggling With Them. If You Want To Know What The Writer Thought When He Wrote The Song, It Can Be Anti Climactic. But Good Writers, Write To The Reader To Interpret Their Material How It Is Meaningful To Them. As A Few People Have Said He Wrote The Song About His Struggles With Money And Wishing For The Day He Could Concentrate On Life's Beauty Instead Of The Material. Sadly Many Of Us Are Taught To Chase Money, Or Forced To Spend All Of Our Energy Focusing On How we Are Going To Pay The Bills; We Miss Out On What Life Really Is About. I Think The Self Defeating Lyrics Like "Everything That Kills Me, Makes Me Feel Alive" Is Self Recognition Of Being Sucked Into This Battle. Always Grasping For The Next Golden Ring Becomes An Addiction, Even Though We May Hate It, We Get Caught Up In It Anyway. I Think It's AGreat message, Society Makes It So there Is Little To No Time To Focus On our Purpose Here On Earth. One Thing I Disagree With Is I Do Believe This World Is Sold For The Most Part, But It Is Still My Choice Of How I Want To Spend My Time Here.
