It's not a love song. It's a rejection song. Her eyes are turning him away not towards her. They're pushing him to the edge of the earth. To the bottom of the sea. She has made him so utterly depressed that he asks her, "Why should I stay here?" before finally coming to the conclusion where he says, "Everybody leaves if they get the chance, and this is my chance." And he leaves her. It hurts, and he feels he's been eaten alive, but he's decided he's willing to hit the bottom to escape this tortuous relationship. |

Probably the best song on the album. This line is a real gut-punch: You don't love me; I am a street that you live on. |

| I added this song because I find this incredibly easy to relate to as an a musician. The meaning of it is pretty obvious (living out of a suitcase and how the transitory life impacts relationships), but it's a beautiful piece that manages to tug at an array of emotions. | |
