It is about a love that has been damaged by the inability of two people to confront how they have hurt each other, and to resolve the pain so that the relationship can take root and grow. In the end, the pain of the bruises has exceeded the pleasure of the love; leaving the haunting hollowness of a relationship that could have been. Essentially, for love to grow, nurturing it is a two way street; both people have to work to nourish it, without that the is no dawn, just the unending darkness. It is a dark, bittersweet song of a love that never could be. |
