@[wbukii:10427] The booklet says: And one day you'll join me here just like the rest. the last line is also missing a 'you' And burn and bury you just like the rest. Love artists who print their lyrics in their cd booklets |

I agree with topaintthelilyz, but to expand..... Well, hold me against the floor Find something to bind my hands 'cause I don't know where I have been And I don't know what I have seen But the puzzle is carved into me - Describing the feeling of wanting somebody to remind him of what he's done and seen. Wanting someone to force him to remember, and saying that the answers are inside of him, if someone would put in the effort to bring them out. And I know that I miss you But I don't even know your name Oh, when you're near me I feel OK Yeah, when you're near me I'm not ashamed And the holes in my head they explain - The feeling of missing somebody that he feels he should know, but doesn't remember. The feeling of them lacking in his life is there, but not the details. I personally love the lines "And i know that i miss you, but i don't even know your name". To me it could be someone with amnesia, or someone who has had something traumatic happen to them, and they have unintentionally blocked out parts of the details. also, there is somebody who either brings back some comforting memories or helps him forget more that they're there, so he feels better in that time. In my sleep I can hear a voice A call; a withering echo And it sings, it sings all-knowing words But ones I can't understand Like running water slippin' through my fingers - He has dreams of the person he's forgotten. she/he talks to him but he forgets by the morning, or doesn't understand the meaning of the words they say, even though he feels he should. When I'm down near the window I feel your hands as you bind my head I'm watching birds through the open shades I hear you wonder if I'm OK Or if the cracks are too deep in my brain - Sitting docilely while the person who's helping him fixes him up, binding the head making sure he doesn't hurt himself physically, if he hasn't already. The person is wondering if he will pull through, maybe wondering if he will remember. Or whether the memories are gone for good, and there is no saving him. In my dreams I can hear a voice A call; a withering echo And it sings, it sings all-knowing words But ones I can't understand Here it goes again... - More of the dreams, perhaps sensing some frustration now that he doesn't understand/remember yet. "here it goes again", saying that he knows it has happened before, but it still means nothing to him. But there's something missing' There's something lost in my head Could you help me fix it? Could you please come stitch me up? 'cause I don't know how Yeah, I don't know how The answers are buried in me - Perhaps a moment of lucidity. he knows theres a lot of his life missing from his memories, something in his head is gone, he's asking someone, anyone to fix his problems. He wants them to stitch him up, and make him better. He doesn't know what happened to him to make the memories disappear. And I know that I miss you But I don't even know your name - My favourite line again. lamenting the fact that someone has gone from his life, and he can't remember why it hurts so much. |

I'm about to add this album to my record collection. based on the strength of this song, the harmonies in the chorus are fantastic. Simply think its about giving up anything for a relationship, and it didn't work. so she misses the person who left, but she knows she has to get over it and move on. should have more comments, if it wasn't so late i would have written more, and possibly made more sense. but definitely the overriding theme is one of missing somebody strongly, and being willing to give anything to get them back. |
