You guys may be right, and I may watch too many movies and TV shows about sociopaths, but when I hear "remembering the music of my lover's call," I don't think he is remembering her fondly, I think he enjoyed the sound of her screaming when he tortured/killed her. Many killers start with someone they know, then they have to escalate the kills to feel anything. Not to mention the description of her body (he doesn't describe the other bodies), sounds like a man who's proud of his work. I don't get the innocence vibe at all. If anything, the fact that he keeps talking about redemption and kills people at random when he gets the chance to turn it around tells me that he really feels no regret or empathy for people. He's a killer, plain and simple, as far as I'm concerned. If nothing else I'm going to keep telling myself that because I like it better that way. ;) |
