Hi. I completely relate to your interpretation. The first time I heard this song, it felt like the words were echoing between the two sides of me: the one that just wants to throw in the towel and give up on everything because I feel like I am just not good enough in all aspects of life, and the other side is repeating these lyrics over and over trying to revive the once lively and positive side of myself. Then there's always the third side, inner-child, popping balloons in my face and asking me why I get so worked up and overwhelmed over the most nonsensical things. Point is, listen to yourself and understand-- shit does get better eventually. My best to you, chloeshimmy. |

I relate to this song because it reminds me of something that had happened to my boyfriend when he was just 14. He was hit by a motorcycle while walking home from the bus stop and subsequently spent the next 6 months in a coma. He spent another 3 months in physical therapy, and by the time he was released from the hospital it was Thanksgiving. He has a few scars from the incident, and I think in a strange way they are all quite wonderful because his recovery was quite miraculous. |
