The song to me is about death. Since most songs on the album are about war, I think it's about someone who lives in a war, and who sometimes wishes to escape from this terrible life by dying. The song that came before, "Death and All His Friends" is very loud, and can be interpreted as the same person who has lost friends and family in the war, and who's trying to escape from the war, but then in this song he realizes that there's no point in living and carrying on. He "awakes". |

I think Lovers in Japan is about manipulation of the government. The line "Sometimes even the right is wrong" means that people are not critical of what the government tells them, and therefore assumes that what they say is right. The chorus is about the government trying to find a way to manipulate the people in the best way possible. "They are turning my head out To see what I'm all about". The song makes me especially think about LGBT rights. The government is brainwashing the people in many countries (especially Russia) into thinking a specific way about homosexuals. The second verse is about hoping that one day people will be understanding and "Dreaming of when the morning comes". That's just my oppinion, and I'm not completely sure about Reigns of Love but I think it's also about LGBT rights. |
