| Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know? Lyrics

I feel this song talks about not having control over the feelings that you have for that person you know you shouldn’t. He almost sounds a little spiteful when saying “Do you want me crawling back to you?” and, “Maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new.” Crawling is a very demining verb to use when proving the point of returning to this person. Yet, he still goes on to make himself available and hopeful just waiting for the chance to be together. He makes this apparent when saying, “But we could be together, if you wanted to.” He also talks about moments of weakness between the both of them, as if this “relationship” between them could be considered a mistake by one , ” That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day.” I get the feeling that he is emotionally available while the other party is unsure, and possibly exploring their feelings in other directions because of the line, “Been wondering if your heart's still open and if so I wanna know what time it shuts.” The overall toner of the song is like everyone says, sexy. It’s almost creating the dynamic between the two lovers. |

In a recent interview with berkleegroove they commented on the lyrical meaning stating, "In ‘It’s About Time,’ lyrically, the idea is about the concept of power, the symbol of power – how a person can use it for bad or for good, and how that reflects who you are as a person, for society, and potentially for humanity." |
