YES! Scotland is brilliant! Edinburgh is very tourist-y, which you might want, I don't know. But if you ever visit Scotland, come to Glasgow. That's where you'll find the true meaning of Scotland. Stirling is also great, and cleaner. Then take a trip up to Loch Lomond. It's close to Glasgow (about 20 minutes by car) and very beautiful. One thing's for sure, if you visit Scotland, you won't find nicer people anywhere. Just be careful in Glasgow at night. Just some friendly advice if you ever decide to visit. |

OK. I agree the song is amazing. However I strongly disagree that we just the the English walk in and take over". There were many battles fought, won, and lost before the English conquered. And that was even before the rebellions. Furthermore, most of this took place in the 14th century. Most Scottish people have gotten over it by now. This song isn't about the English conquering us, it's about Scottish Independence, which is a long debated topic. I'm not going to go into the details of that here, but i's easily researched. Scots are strong and resilient to his day, and very patriotic. Always have been. There is no way Scots past or present, would go down without a fight. |
