Did nobody realize about the gay roles references in the song? Really? I mean, look at the bridge, it's like if she's saying that she doesn't need to be the top on the lesbian relation to feel potent. It's a "third wave feminism" that talks about how a woman can be the bottom in both straight and gay relationship but she still knows that she worth it. Just because you're the submissive one doesn't mean you don't deserve some respect. Also, she renew the meaning of "guy", putting it aside as a synom of "boy" and taking it as the girl who is worth it. Greetings from a bottom. X |

This song is SO ambiguous the lyrics is so simple, Gosh! First, just like belmad said, it's about how women deal with romantic depression and how they mentally feel renewed after going to the salon. Well, that's quite similar to what Gaga said herself: the song is about "manicuring" your body and soul to be able to go after a new love interest. In my first language (spanish) people use to traslate "MANiCURED" as "healed man" but I certainly think that the real meaning is a man that IS the cure, not the one who gets healed or (coming back to the first interpretation) manicure as the real medicine "to heal the way you make me feel" |
