For me it's about an abortion being forced on a mother of a child. "It's a pill and you've got to take it" and "It's a heart that you made, I won't rest until I break it" Also "it's the story of a family, it's the strory of a woman" implies that maybe it's "family history" that won't allow that woman to have a child, some kind of a reputation. Said "valley" is a place of a child's birth. some kind of closed community that won't tolerate it. (Read "strict household") When she decides to have it anyway, threatening suicide/murder with a razor, and her child is being abused when he becomes an "orphan de la valley", when his mother dies and there's no one to protect him. So he tries to feign love for this "valley", whilst still crying in pain between declarations of love. That said, that "oh" gets me every time. |
