The Decemberists – The Legionnaire's Lament Lyrics 12 years ago
It's definitely "my gay Paris" (since the former "Paree" is a phonetic spelling of how the French pronounce "Paris"). I have edited it to reflect such.

It's also possible that "bagatelles" is meant to be "baguettelles," but because bagatelle is also a word and the intent is ambiguous, I will refrain from making any changes and just post my thoughts on that one.

(A bagatelle is a short, light piano piece, usually solo; a baguettelle is a French bakery/pastry shop [Parisian/cosmopolitan slang, usual term would be patisserie]. Because of how the song is written, I'm inclined to think he means the shops lining the streets of home, which makes more sense to me than making an oblique reference to music, but it's also possible he meant the music and the context is just unclear; he could be referencing memories of bagatelles drifting out into the streets, for example.)
