Why he named it the Child's song could be a matter of argument.But this song can certainly be related to. This whole song seems to represent the emotions that most would consider plainly childish.But one can only relate to it when they're going through or have gone through a similar time, when You realize, those who You love are the ones holding You back.supressing You with their "love".. |

I almost entirely agree with Your interpretation. "And just when I climbed this whole mountainside, to wash my eyelids in the rain!" .Well , Climbing the mountainside, refers to the struggle he must have gone through before coming to accept that she is not his to love anymore.and to wash eyelids in the rain perhaps mean how he has'nt really gotten over her.But is pretending that he is, so that She, who now shares the name of another, may atleast come laugh about the past with him, and bestow him with her presence.hence, He is hiding those tears in the harsh rain that pours down on him after having climbed these mountains( which refers to realizing that he will never hold her again). |
