I definitely think it's an allusion to Bohemian Rhapsody (the obvious similarities in words and the abrupt changes in the song). That song is an allusion to the book "The Stranger" by Camus. That book is about a man who is so apathetic about life that he kills a man for no reason. I think what the song is saying in regards to this is that he isn't like the stranger... He's not "killing" the relationship because he doesn't care. He's leaving because he does care. Because it's better for both of them if they go their separate ways. |
