| Vanna – We Ate The Horse You Rode In On Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I feel like he got in an argument with someone he loved and killed her in the heat of the moment. And I feel like it's his internal struggle emotionally after realizing what he's done. There are parts where his mind seems broken and he sounds cold emotionally. Sometimes broken in that he's distraught one moment and then in the next, still talking to her as though she were still alive ("I don't want to see you fall apart/ When they come to get you/ (You're safe and sound)/ I know we can have at this head start/ And I'm sure we'll pull through (I'll keep you hidden with me)"). And at others it's a "WTF happened??" ("Goddamn!/ I'm no killer/ Goddamn!/ I'm no killer"). And self loathing during the "You're not my usual victim" makes it seem like he's had a tough life and he has a tendency to blame himself. Even though I don't really listen to metal anymore, I find myself loving this song because it seems like such a good study of human emotion and nature in its most terrible moments... Anyways, that's my interpretation. | |
